Welcome to the website of Kitchen Antics and Appliances, to find out more about their individual, co-authored and collaborative work, click on the links. KA&A's are Barbara Dean, Hilary Kneale and Ann Rapstoff. They practice as individual artists and have been involved in collaborative initiatives since 2001. Their practice is interdisciplinary with an emphasis on live and interactive strategies.
KA&A was established in late 2005, during the development of a residency, stimulated by the collection and archive at The Museum of Domestic Architecture & Design. The artists have come together to investigate themes concerning the domestic environment from the rear or under belly.
The domestic environment is under constant reinvention and is subject to both cultural and consumer influences, it is also a personal environment that is an expression of identity.

KA&A's explore a variety of strategies through the process of transient communities, dialogue and communication. Since the residency ended KA&A's have continued their collaboration. If you have any questions or would like to know more about the work of KA&A's please go to the contact link and drop the artists a line. You can also participate in the KA&A's questionnaire about your experiences of home and you can see some of the thoughts people have already left here. KA&A's are keen to involve work by new creative audiences and this is central to their collaboration.
